Joel Arredondo is currently serving his fifth term as the President of Lorain City Council. He was born and raised in South Lorain. Joel is a Graduate of Admiral King High Class of '65. He earned his BA degree with a double major in History and Spanish, along with a minor in Business Administration from Kent State University in 1972. Joel was in Restaurant Management for 15 years and has been in auto sales for the past 27 years, where he is employed at Sunnyside Toyota in North Olmsted.
Joel and his wife Joyce Ferlic-Arredondo recently celebrated their 30th glorious wedding anniversary and are the proud parents of Mia, who is employed at NASA in Brookpark and Andy, who is completing his Master’s degree in Anatomy Physiology at the University of Central Florida.
Joel is President of the St. Frances Cabrini Church Finance Committee and serves on the Mexican Mutual Society and the Coalition for Hispanic Issues and Progress (CHIP). He is also a board member of the Greater Lorain County Community Foundation and a member in good standing of the Lorain County Urban League, the Lorain Growth Association and the Lorain County Democratic Party Executive Committee. He is a past Vice-President of the Community Foundation Hispanic Fund and past Board member of the St. Joseph Community Center. Joel appreciates the confidence and trust he has earned from the voting public to allow him to Listen, Learn, and Lead.
