Bills must be paid in full by the 17th of each month in order to avoid a penalty. You can now go paperless by receiving your monthly utility bill via email. Please call 440-204-2500, option 3.

There are several convenient ways to pay your City of Lorain utility bill. Pay online or by the touch-tone phone system between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Try them today!

The City of Lorain Utilities Department is putting into place a new policy involving payments made online (IWR) or by phone (IVR). There will now be a limit of five transactions per utility account made in a 30 day period. Also, there will be a minimum payment of $5. Any variances outside these parameters will cause the payer to be charged $5 for each and every violation.

Pay by Mail 

Use the return envelope included with your bill to send payment. Payments can be mailed to:

Call the new touch-tone phone payment system at 440-204-2500, option 2.

Drop It Off

City of Lorain utility payments can be deposited in the drop box located at the front of the Lorain Utilities Department, located at 1106 West 1st Street.

Automatic Payment 

Pay your City of Lorain utility bill the easy way with AutoPay. You won’t need to write out a check each month. Instead you can authorize the Lorain Utilities Department to handle the transaction through your bank. You will be mailed a copy of your monthly bill, clearly marked "automatic withdrawal", so that you will know the exact amount billed. This amount will be deducted from your bank account on the 12th of each month, or if this is a weekend or holiday, the next business day. Download the Automated Bill Payment Application (PDF).

Pay in Person 

Please try to use other payment methods before coming to the Utility Department to pay in person. Wait times can be extensive for bill payment.
